Our product range includes – Salted cattle hides, Wetblue cattle hides (full substance, grains and drop splits), Kangaroo skins, Deer skins and Goat skins.
We are constantly refining processing and transport methods to ensure we optimise efficiencies and minimise costs to enhance quality at every stage – from the meatworks gate to our customers’ production facilities.
Livestock is raised across Australia, with around 88% processed in Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria. With approximately 8.5 million cattle slaughtered annually, there are 1.4 million on feed which supply consistently high quality, clean grain hides.
Kangaroo skins are by-products of the Australian Governments’ Kangaroo Management Program and the meat industry. 1.5 million are harvested each year within strict and transparent quota levels.
Southern Hide Exports is a member of the Australian Hide, Skin, and Leather Exporters Association and is committed to operating within their Code of Practice and with the specific intent to meet targets set under the Australian Leather Sustainability Framework.
