Kangaroos are wild native animals and leather made from their skins is renowned as the strongest available. This material is used by the world’s leading manufacturers for footwear, garment, leathergoods and gloving leathers – particularly where superior strength, abrasion and water resistance are key performance attributes. These characteristics come from the distinctive horizontal fibre structure of kangaroo skin as well as its thin grain layer and low fat content.
Only four species are commercially harvested none of which are endangered or CITES listed.
