Wetblue (Chrome Tanned) Hides
Our Wetblue hides are produced under contract by Gunnedah Leather Processors using state of the art jumbo wooden drums equipped with automated controls and dosing systems. These jumbo drums not only enable a reduction in energy, water and chemical use per hide but also have a gentle agitation system which produces a superior quality hide.
Delivery
Green hides are delivered daily to the tannery.
Machine fleshed
Hides are then fleshed, trimmed and weight ranged prior to tannage to enable more precise tannage control.
Chrome tanned
Hides are chrome tanned and sammyed to a consistent moisture content of 58/60%.
Grading
Hides are offered according to weight (with a size indication) and grain selection - A, B and C grades. 4ths and Rejects are packed and sold separately.
Hides offered as full substance Wetblue whole hides or alternatively as Grains split in wetblue according to customer substance requirements.
All Wetblue and Pickled production is certified Gold under the Leather Working Group.

Pickled Hides
Our Pickled hide production is green fleshed, split in lime and then pickled to achieve a pH2.5 suitable for a variety of tannages. Average size 49-52 sqft, 1.7-2.0mm.
Wet Blue Splits
Whole hide drop splits are produced from our Wetblue whole hides (80/20 run, 100% machine pulled) and are ideal for suede, PU, upholstery leather.
